The British International School Shanghai, Puxi, opened its brand new Golf Training Centre: a state-of-the-art facility featuring two hitting bays installed with the latest Garmin R50 simulators, and a large putting green for children to practise — all made possible by a generous parent donation.
Principal Andrew Lancaster gave an opening speech, followed by a session with Pro. Jovick Lee (PGA coach), who gave the children a lecture on using the cutting-edge equipment, sparking excitement among budding golfers.
The event also marked the official launch of the BISS Golf Team, led by captain Edison Ai from Year 8. The team members include Rex ChengRui (8I), Roy (7U), Adam (7I), Kenny (7U) Aydan (6S) and Allen (6B). The team will represent our school at the upcoming FOBISIA Golf tournament in Bangkok, Thailand from 8-12 March.
The day ended with students exploring the facility, filled with enthusiasm for the opportunities ahead. This new centre is not just a space for golf but a platform for growth, discipline and dreams. Here’s to a bright future for our golfers!
