A team of 31 students proudly represented the British International School Shanghai at the annual U13 FOBISIA Games, held at the Pattana Sports Resort in Bangkok.

The event brought together leading international schools from across Asia, including the British School Tokyo, British School Kuala Lumpur, British School Brunei, Dulwich College Beijing, Discovery Bay International School (Hong Kong), and, of course, BISS Puxi.

Preparation for the Games began back in early September, with students training across football, basketball and volleyball. This year’s programme was strengthened through detailed reflection on last year’s performances, allowing students and coaches to identify key areas for development. In addition, regular sports fixtures in football and basketball, as well as our annual sports day taking place the week prior to departure, ensured that all athletes arrived in Bangkok well-prepared and fully tuned into the competitive environment.

The team delivered an outstanding set of performances across all sports. Highlights include a 2nd place finish in athletics and a 2nd place finish in boys’ football, demonstrating the strength and depth of our programme. The girls’ basketball team secured an impressive 3rd place, whilst swimming achieved a solid 6th place overall. In football, the girls’ team finished 5th, alongside a 5th place finish for boys’ basketball.

Throughout the tournament, our students demonstrated exceptional commitment, teamwork and resilience, representing the school with pride both on and off the field. Their performances are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the strength of the BISS Lions programme.

A huge thank you must also go to the parents who travelled with us. Your support throughout the five days was invaluable, not only in encouraging all members of the team, but also in keeping our wider parent community updated with videos and photos.

Well done to all! Go Lions!
