D1 Boys
The BISS Lions D1 team competed in the SISAC D1 Finals, bringing together the top six teams in Shanghai - three from Puxi and three from Pudong - in a tournament hosted by Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong. The event was marked by high levels of competitiveness, excitement and excellent football throughout.
Despite the cold and strong winds, our boys demonstrated great determination, courage and discipline, executing their tactical strategies with impressive consistency in every match.
BISS opened the tournament with a quarter-final clash against Wellington International School. In a well-balanced and competitive game, the Lions proved more efficient, controlling play and taking the lead early in the second half through a superb header from Joaquim. Both teams created chances, but BISS secured a deserved victory to progress to the semi-finals.
In the semi-final, the Lions faced the German School Shanghai in a physical and highly contested match. BISS started strongly, taking an early lead with a powerful strike from Achille and controlling the game well until half time. However, a loss of focus in the second half allowed the opposition to score twice through quick transitions. Despite a strong effort to respond, fatigue and injuries limited the team’s ability to recover, resulting in a 3–1 defeat.
In the third-place playoff against the hosts, Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong, BISS delivered an outstanding performance. Unfazed by the home crowd, the Lions dominated from start to finish, showcasing excellent technical quality, fluid positional play, and high pressing. Goals from Harrison and Joaquim sealed a well-deserved victory, with several other chances created throughout the match.
A third-place finish earned through resilience, determination, and, above all, a high standard of football.

In the final, the team produced their most complete performance of the day, defeating Livingston International 4–1 to lift the trophy.
