The children in Reception have taken part in various activities related to Book Week this week.

Through our story 'Deductive Duck' the children have used their sleuthing skills to try and work out who the nefarious cake thief is. The children have thought of their own reasons as to why the thief may have stolen the cake such as 'he is greedy' or 'Rats and Mice always steal things from peoples houses.'

Children have also been creating 'Wanted' posters for some of the characters from our story.

They also had the chance to explore some of their favourite stories we have already shared in class, and some of the ones they enjoy at home too. Such as 'Where's Wally', 'Traction Man', 'The Treasure of Pirate Frank' and many more.

The children then had the exciting opportunity to  virtually meet a real author of a book. The author shared her book with the children while they sat in the Hall. The Book was about a group of Pugs and the children thoroughly enjoyed meeting the author Janice Stewart-Yates.
