Homework

"Homework is an opportunity for students to learn and for parents to be involved in their children’s education. A parent’s interest can spark enthusiasm in a child and help teach the most important lesson of all, that learning can be fun and is well worth the effort - Department for Children, Schools and Families, U.K.

Homework starts in a small way in our Reception year with word recognition and describing picture books. By the time a student is in Year 6 they are given a balanced amount of homework that incorporates the core subjects, as well as reading and spellings.

We encourage the link between home and school and ensure that our homework policy strikes a balance between academia and student’s being encouraged to play and have downtime when away from school.
