This week Year 5 Kookaburras enjoyed exploring another Juilliard Creative Classroom activity. They worked hard to represent musical contrasts on the keyboards and in a little musical battle in between good and evil side, just like the film composers do.
Through this inspiring activity students developed their understanding and skill in using fundamental music elements by investigating contrasting themes that frequently appear in movies and stories. Our listening reflection was focused on the first scene of the movie ‘E.T.’ and wonderful music composed by John Williams.
The highlight of the lessons was our visitor and music specialist, Mr Brian Drye who joined us and participated in the lesson live from New York.
