What a wonderful week we have had in the Tadpoles Class! We have been learning all about the change in seasons and focusing on the season of Autumn.
After reading the story of the week, ‘We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt’ the children all enjoyed collecting as many autumn leaves as they can find. The children then brought them to school to share with their classmates. We made some beautiful leaf prints by painting the leaves in bright autumn colours such as orange, yellow and red. We then placed the leaves underneath white paper and made leaf prints! The children enjoyed feeling the texture of the leaves and seeing the different marks they made on the paper. We have also been working on many other creations such as wreaths made from leaves and leaf crayon rubs.
We have been using leaves to help us learn to count to 5 and singing lots of songs where we use our fingers to help us count.
The Tadpole children have been learning lots of new songs and enjoying singing and dancing each day. Our favourite song this week is ‘This is the way we rake the leaves’. We have been pretending to rake, pick up and toss the leaves.
