It has been great to have students back in school to resume their PE lessons. At the start of term we have a series of new units in our PE classes.
The Key Stage 1 students took the first badminton lessons of this term and learned the basic backhand and forehand shots, how to serve and played a series of interesting games to improve their skills. Children like badminton games very much because badminton is a sport that tests skill and flexibility. In the practice with their partners, they honed their ability to control the small muscle groups of the body and to develop their hand-eye coordination.
The Key Stage 2 students took the basic gymnastics course. From the more basic forward roll to the more difficult back roll, they constantly challenged themselves and completed some impressive gymnastic routines.
The PE team is proud of all the children for their hard work during the period of VSE and how they have overcome challenges to stay healthy and active. We’re looking forward to an exciting term of PE together and seeing how the children can continue to challenge themselves to Be Ambitious and improve their PE skills.
