As part of the Upper Primary Enrichment Programme some of the children in Year 5 and Year 6 have joined the BSB Media Hub and have been working hard to create a newspaper all about the world and BSB. They spent time researching and planning their articles. They learned about headlines, quotes, deadlines, printing, images and using Microsoft publisher.
The children were tasked with writing two articles on their section of the newspaper - one about something happening in the world or something that interests them and the other about an area of BSB like ASAs, the Hub or lunches. After they had written about BSB, they had the opportunity to take the two school cameras and capture images of different areas around our school to use in their article.
The children learned that newspapers are an important communication artefact and are printed in different languages all around the world. After completing the second edition of the BSB Bulldog News, the children were excited to deliver it all around the school.
It's great to know what's happening around the world and in BSB! Next up they will be creating some exciting Podcasts about anything and everything - so stay tuned!
