If You Get Lost in the Wild

If You Get Lost in the Wild | BSB Sanlitun - If You Get Lost in the Wild

In Year 1 (native group) the children learned ‘The Shadow’ - a children's song full of fun. Through observing and studying of shadows, we stimulated the children’s interests in discovering and observing things in life. We also used interesting Chinese character games to help children better understand the song.

In Year 2 (native group) the children learned ‘It’s Going to Rain’. It’s an interesting fairy tale of popular science which talks about three common phenomena one would see before raining - swallows flying low, fish jumping out of the water and ants moving fast. It describes the activities that small animals do before the rain and the reasons behind them. We reviewed and consolidated our understanding of the story by reading the text out loud as well as role playing.

In Year 4 (native group) the children learned ‘If You Get Lost in the Wild’ - a children's poem about natural science. We talked about several natural phenomena that help people identify directions, this attracted the students into the wonderful world of nature. Then the children wrote down what they knew about nature based on their own observation and experience.
