This week the Reception children have been gardeners, digging further and further into our Plant topic. The children have loved tending to our mini classroom gardens and have been particularly delighted by our pet snails. The children are learning about the habits of snails and what we need to do to care for them.
As part of our Plant topic, we have also been observing flowers and recreating them in our artwork. We love to paint, draw, and sketch the vibrant colours of the flowers that are in our classroom. These bright paintings certainly make our classroom even more beautiful than normal.
The Reception children have also been writing some sentences to describe the flower artwork that they have been making. It is so wonderful to see the children using the language they have been learning about during classroom activities, in their written work and also at playtimes.
