The Tadpoles children have had a brilliant week focused on learning their new topic ‘Helping Hands!’
We have been learning all about the people in our community that help us in our everyday life such as doctors, nurses, teachers, construction workers, veterinarians, police officers, fire fighters and more!
This topic has allowed the children to be creative and use their imaginations. We also learned some new words to add to our growing vocabulary. During pretend play time the children interacted with each other using their bodies as well as through language.
We have had a fun time dressing up in different costumes each day and pretending to do the jobs that these important people do. We have had our little Tadpole doctors bandage up pretend wounds, taking temperatures and looking after sick toys in the classroom. Our veterinarians have been helping the sick toy animals in the class and our fire fighters have been putting out all those fires with their fire hoses and fire trucks! Our construction workers even built a new barn for the toy animals in the small world area using wooden blocks and Lego!
What a fun and busy time we have had and what wonderful helpers all our little Tadpoles will one day make!
