Join Our Open Morning
It’s been a very busy couple of weeks in the German Department.
Year 3 and the Vikings
One of the most interesting and exciting topics in Year 3 is ‘Wikinger’. The children enjoyed learning all about the Vikings, how they lived, what language they had.
The children learned the poem ‘Heut ist Markt in Haithabu’ and recited it by heart during the roleplay ‘On the Vikings Mart’. We also learned how to make silver coins and a Viking boat and how to read the Viking language! How exciting!
Year 2 were telling a story
In our topic ‘Giants and Gnomes’ we learned all about stories. The children were introduced to a few learning methods and were very excited to try them out. So, we tried the story box and the placemat to gather our ideas, then we invented the story together and the children wrote it down.
'Der Hase mit der roten Nase'
During ASA the children on the German Programme learned the poem ‘Der Hase mit der roten Nase’ and created their own Rabbits pictures. At the end everyone knew the poem about the Rabbit with the red nose!
