Reception and 'The Little Red Hen'

This week the Reception children have been looking at a fantastic fairytale, 'The Little Red Hen'.

In Literacy, the children focused on some key vocabulary: hen, cat, rat, pig, farm, plant, corn, grow, flour, bread and butter. It was amazing to see the children using their phonic knowledge to read and write words from the story. We then had a go at retelling the story and acting it out in our small world areas. Some children even wanted to make their own bread. What a wonderful treat!
