This week in Nursery we read the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, an exciting tale about a family travelling through different areas on a quest to find a bear.
Through the story the children learned about different areas and their descriptions, such as areas filled with oozy mud, tall grassland, and deep rivers. The children also learned vocabulary about positional language, for example going over, going under, and going through. They were able to go on their very own bear hunt and were given a variety of materials of similar or different properties to explore.
The children explored different areas much like in our story. They journeyed through snow-covered mountain tops, navigated through wet muddy land, and searched through grass covered fields. They used descriptive sound vocabulary to describe these areas, such as squelch while going through oozy mud, similar to our story.

Before the holiday break, we had the privilege of hosting a memorable awards ceremony to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students in sporty After-School Activities (ASAs). This special event allowed us to recognise the dedication, effort, and talent demonstrated by our students throughout the term.
Today, our students had the wonderful opportunity to take part in two live broadcasts with CNN and on the important topic of Climate Change.
