Last week, our BSB Sanlitun Year 6 students participated in the Nord Anglia Beijing Sports Festival at The British School of Beijing, Shunyi. An event that created history by bringing together the four Nord Anglia schools in Beijing for the very first time! And what a wonderful event it was with two glorious days of sport.
Day 1 was athletics and football. In the morning, our students were split into separate teams for athletics and paired up with students from other schools with one goal, to make new friends and have fun. They competed together in 60m sprints, 150m sprints, long jump, high jump, shuttle runs, quoit throw, and vortex throw earning points towards their school.
After a delicious lunch to replenish energy for afternoon events, our students enjoyed some limbo in their downtime.
In the afternoon, it was time for football as BSB Sanlitun students grouped back together and got into their teams. A tournament of 9 teams total for the Year 6 boys who got very close to the cup final but just missed out on goal difference by two goals. They played extremely well and finished in third place. The Year 6 girls’ team were also fantastic and absolutely smashed it winning every game ending in first place as CHAMPIONS!
Day 2 was tee-ball! Another hot and fantastic day of sport. For this tournament, our teams were mixed girls and boys and there was 9 teams total participating. In the morning, students played against every team in a one innings single round robin format which was quick and exciting, before a two innings final in the afternoon. Two of our BSB Sanlitun teams just missed out on the final ranking third and fourth in the table, meaning the third-place playoff match was Sanlitun 1 vs Sanlitun 2 with the winner being SANLITUN!

Here, at BSB Sanlitun, we were pleased to host two weeks of visits of two Juilliard specialists from New York, across 3 full working days. Our Primary students got to experience a variety of lessons and teaching styles as Nick Mahmat and Brian Drye stepped into our classrooms and led music and drama activities.
What a wonderful day we had hosting our annual Chinese New Year Temple Fair on campus on Sunday. This great community event included games, a Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, a face changing performance, traditional crafts, a bouncy castle, food vendors and gift stalls. Thanks to everyone who made the event possible and magical!
