FOBISIA Swimming 2023

The level of competition was certainly high as the event showcased the best swimmers each school had to offer in hopes of winning the gold medal. BSKL managed to secure 7 gold, 2 Silver and 3 bronze medals in this event.

We had Joshua Ji-Shen Lim 7.2 that won the best performing under-12 boy trophy with his feat of 7 individual gold. Another boy that brought honours to BSKL is Simon Qi Xin 8.3 , which his performance of Silvers and Bronzes, he claimed the U15 third best performing boy award. Some honourable mentions include Jay Templing who won a bronze medal, Ryan Aymes 11.2 coming close to achieving his personal best 50 freestyle time and helped the BSKL relay team score crucial points. Garance Dumas 6D , Joshua Ong 6E, David Sungatullin 5C, Kristen Kuan 8.4, Makenzie Wang 8.2, Sean Joo 7.1, Caleb Chia 7.4, Zachery Yuen 8.1, Wong Rong Zhen 9.1 & Teoh Zhi Shan 11.3 were points contributors for BSKL.

All swimmers swam their heart out to help BSKL score 441 points to finish 9th out of 23 schools originating from 6 different countries. In terms of comparison with Malaysian International Schools, BSKL has finished second behind Alice Smith School at the same time outscoring Garden International School. The Coaches have identified the weaknesses and vowed to come back stronger in the next edition of this prestigious event.
