British International School saw 3 of its swimmers in the recent 65th Milo/MAS Malaysia Open Swimming Championships that was held in National Aquatic Stadium, Bukit Jalil, from the 11th - 14th of March. A FINA-approved competition, this meet saw more than 10 countries participating and is used for qualifications into the World Championships and Southeast Asia Games in the middle of this year.
BSKL Head of Performance Swimming Coach Wilson said, "It is amazing seeing our swimmers there; competing with people who are much older and with some who are even World Champs and Olympic swimmers. I am super proud of our young swimmers' achievements, whom I have seen from young until now. They have definitely come a long way, one that is piled with hard work, commitment, and resilience".

Second timer Ryan Aymes from Year 11 competed in 4 events - 50m and 100m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, and 50m Backstroke. Juggling between his IGCSE exams and the preparation for Malaysia Open was not an easy task for Ryan. He managed to achieve 2 new Pbs this round. Thumbs up for his dedication and perseverance!

Second timer Kaylee Wong from Year 10 competed in 5 events - 50m, 100m, and 200m Breaststroke, 50m Freestyle, and 200m Backstroke. A huge congratulations to Kaylee! She ranked  Top 10 in her pet event 50m Breaststroke and made 2 new Pbs along the way.

Joshua Lim from year 7 made his debut by competing in 7 events - 50m and 100m Breaststroke, 50m and 100m Butterfly, 50m and 100m Freestyle, and 50m Backstroke. All of which he achieved new Pbs. A great start for Joshua indeed.

"I am looking forward to seeing them swim in the upcoming Nord Anglia Invitation Swim Meet to be held on June 17-18. Meanwhile, train hard, and see you all at the pool soon". Coach Wilson added.
