Interschool Oxbridge and Medicine Events at the Weekend
Last weekend, BSKL Sixth-Form students took part in inter-school events to help prepare them for pregisteous university applications to Oxbridge and Medical School's in the UK.
Oxbridge Bubble Event at Sri KDU:
Participating in the inter school Oxbridge Bubble Day event was an incredible and eye-opening experience. I had the chance to connect with and learn from teachers, university counsellors, and Oxbridge alumni, as well as peers from schools across Malaysia. The event offered a unique space to dive deep into the Oxbridge admissions process, from tackling rigorous admissions tests to refining my interview skills. I walked away with not only invaluable knowledge and practical tools to guide my application journey, but also a supportive network of friends, teachers, alumni, and counsellors who I know I can rely on throughout the process.

Medical Conference at KTJ:

On Sunday the 22nd of June 2025, BSKL's aspiring Medicine students attended KTJ's annual inter-school medical conference.

School's from all over Kuala Lumpur, including Gardens International, Alice Smith, Sunway University and KTJ gathered to take part in KTJ's Medical Conference. To say the experience was exciting is an understatement. We learnt how to stitch flesh with needles using forceps and a needle holder. After that we had to debate on real-life ethical issues in the medical field. I had to work with other students from different schools. Not only did this opportunity thought me team work but helped me to step out of my comfort zone to debate against people I do not know. Following this there was a Case study that we needed to dissect to give a diagnosis on a patient as well as planning a treatment plan for the patient. To finish up, We had a KTJ alumni who graduated to become a general practitioner to guide and teach us on how to perform a diagnosis and questions to ask a patient. The conference had given me a taste of what it is like to be a doctor which I’m grateful for.
