BSKL student represents MSN in the ‘SUKMA Trials’ Athletics Open Championship 2024

Over last weekend, Sasha (Year 10) represented Majlis Sukan Negeri Selangor (MSN Selangor / Selangor State Sports Council) in the ‘SUKMA Trials’ Athletics Open Championship 2024 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

This meet was held primarily to allow State teams to select their athletes for the upcoming 21st Sukan Malaysia Games (SUKMA) to be held later this year in Sarawak.

The SUKMA Games is a biennial national multi-sport event for athletes 21 years and younger, regulated by the National Sports Council of Malaysia, the State sports council of the respective member states, the Olympic Council of Malaysia and the National Sports Association.

Sasha representing Selangor, won bronze in discus in the women’s open category. This was a huge achievement for her as she was not competing in her age group but against more senior state and sport school athletes. Straight after the discus event with no break in between, she competed in the javelin event where she placed 4th in the women’s open category, again competing with athletes above her age category.

We are very proud of Sasha and her achievements in Athletics and wish her continued success in future competitions that she will participate in, be it for the BSKL Lions, the Petaling Utama District or the State of Selangor.
