Exciting Campus Upgrades happening this summer at BSKL

We’re making some exciting changes over the summer to enhance student life and learning at the British International School of Kuala Lumpur.

From updated learning areas to more comfortable social spaces, these renovations are all about creating the best possible experience for every student, whether they’re in the classroom, enjoying lunch, or simply taking a break.

“We’re always looking for ways to make BSKL an even better place to learn and grow,” says Principal Dr. Mike O’Connor. “These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to delivering a world-class education in a world-class environment.”

Here’s what’s happening on campus:

  • A fully refurbished canteen at Lower Hill, designed for comfort, better flow, and quieter lunch breaks.
  • A refreshed reception area for Secondary students to create a warm and welcoming first impression.
  • Renovated Secondary classrooms to support our three learning pathways: Core, Integrated, and EAL.
  • Upgraded library and breakout areas designed for flexible, focused study.
  • A new lounge space in Secondary where students can relax, connect and recharge during breaks.

These updates aren’t just about new finishes, they’re about rethinking how our current spaces can better support student wellbeing, learning, and daily life.

“We know that students learn best when they feel confident and comfortable,” says Dr. Nicola Brown, Head of Secondary. “That’s why we’re creating spaces that support every learner, no matter their path.”

Whether your child is just starting their school journey or preparing for the next stage, BSKL is focused on giving them the tools, environment, and encouragement to succeed, now and in the future.
