Simon Head Message
Week 10, Term 3, 2024/2025

As we brought the school year to a close this week, I found myself reflecting on what an incredible year it was in our Primary School. It was a year full of learning, laughter, challenges, change and through it all, our children amazed us with their resilience, curiosity, and kindness.

One of the things I felt most proud of was how we truly lived our school values. Whether it was children showing kindness by welcoming new friends, taking risks by performing in assemblies and productions, or showing ambition by challenging themselves in class, the values we talk about as a school were visible every day.

We saw children act with integrity by owning their mistakes and learning from them. We saw them strive for happiness by helping a friend, celebrating a team win, or simply finding joy in their learning. And we certainly saw resilience, as they worked hard, adapted to change, and bounced back when things didn’t go their way.

There were so many highlights across the year. International Week, Pink Day, Sports Days, Living Museums, Eco Warrior campaigns, music showcases, and magical dress-up days reminded us of what a vibrant, caring, and inclusive community we are. Thank you to all our parents for your incredible support throughout the year.

I also want to express my sincere thanks to our Class Representatives, who, starting next year, will take on the catchy new title of “Parent Ambassadors” (more details to follow soon!). You have been outstanding in your support this year, organising events, sharing important messages, welcoming new families, and helping to strengthen the vital connection between home and school.

This week, we wrapped up with our Celebration Assemblies for Years 1–2, 3–4, and 5–6, along with our Reception and Year 6 Graduation Ceremonies. These events gave us a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the growth, achievements, and unique contributions of every child. Thank you to all who attended and helped make those moments so memorable.

To our Year 6 students, you were fantastic leaders and role models. We will miss you deeply, but we know you are more than ready for the next step in your journey, equipped with confidence, kindness, and courage.

Remember the message I shared at your graduation: “Dream big. Work hard. Be kind. And never let anyone tell you who you can or can’t be. And never, ever stop following your passion.”

To the families leaving BSKL this summer, thank you for all you brought to our community. We wish you every happiness and hope you take with you fond memories of your time here.

And finally, to all of you—thank you. Your support, trust, and positivity made this a truly special year. We often say, we know our children and empower them to thriveand this year, more than ever, I saw that come to life in our classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and assemblies.

Wishing you a restful and joyful break.

See you in August,
