Biology Olympiad
We are delighted to share the impressive achievements of our students who recently took part in the Intermediate Biology Olympiad, an international competition organised by the Royal Society of Biology.
Aimed at students aged 16–17, the competition challenges participants with advanced Biology questions that stretch beyond the standard curriculum, testing both knowledge and problem-solving skills.
This year, over 17,000 students from around the world took part, making it a highly competitive event.

We are proud to report that six of our students took on the challenge, with the following results:

Alyssa was awarded Gold, placing her in the top 5% of the global cohort – an outstanding accomplishment.

Maureen earned a Silver award, Ayaan and Maheen achieved Bronze awards, and Arthur received a Commended award.

These results reflect the students’ dedication, curiosity, and passion for Biology. We congratulate them for their hard work and success in this prestigious competition.

A special thank you to Dr Sophie Ainsworth for encouraging and supporting students to take part in these valuable enrichment opportunities.

Well done to all involved!
