The week was packed with activities that provided a comprehensive introduction to Sixth Form life and helped students feel more confident about the transition.
The ‘Introduction to Sixth Form’ session included rich discussions about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, while a special focus on the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and research skills equipped them with valuable tools for independent learning and academic success. The students also attended a session on exploring careers and discussing techniques to maximise success in an ever-changing technological world. They were introduced to a range of ideas and problems that encouraged thinking deeply about how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset within the World of AI.
We were also fortunate enough to have a live session with Ariel Lau, founder of Millie; “the big brother/sister that you wished you had when applying for university”. Ariel introduced the students to the Millie platform and discussed student profile building and super-curricular opportunities, providing the students with innovative ideas to maximise their summer holidays.
The end of the week included Biology, Chemistry and Physics preparation sessions, giving the students a taster of what is to come in the lessons next year. Beyond academics, students took on a cooking challenge and competed against their new form tutors in biscuit making, impressing them with their collaboration and creativity.
We look forward to welcoming students back to school in August and seeing them thrive in this new chapter of their education.
