Following their outstanding performances at the Petaling Utama District Athletics Championships (MSSD) in June, siblings Sasha Year 12 and Zac Year 10 were selected to represent the district at the 2025 Selangor State Schools Athletics Championship (MSSS).

The meet, held in late July at the University Putra Malaysia Stadium in Serdang, brought together top athletes from all 10 districts of Selangor, including competitors from state and national sports schools, raising the level of competition significantly.

Sasha reaffirmed her dominance in the Girls’ Under-18 throwing events, securing her fourth consecutive state Javelin title with a throw of 35.85m, just 66cm shy of her own state record. She also claimed her third consecutive Discus title with 39.19m, a metre short of her record. Competing in Shot Put for the first time, Sasha impressed by winning silver, missing out on gold by only 37cm against more seasoned competitors.

Zac also delivered an exceptional series of performances in the Boys’ Under-14 throwing events, achieving personal bests in all three. He was crowned state Javelin champion with a throw of 41.60m, taking the lead from his very first attempt. He went on to win bronze in Discus with 40.72m in a tightly contested final, where less than 1.7m separated the medal winners. Zac narrowly missed another podium finish in Shot Put, placing fourth overall. Having been a consistent district champion, Zac made his breakthrough this year by securing his first-ever state title.

Together, Sasha and Zac brought home an impressive 3 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze, and a 4th-place finish, cementing their places among Selangor’s top throwers in their age categories.

As BSKL Lions and state champions, they have once again made us proud with their unwavering dedication, resilience, and elite-level performances. Go Lions!
