Simon Head Message
Week 3, Term 1, 2025/2026

It may have been a short week, but what a busy and rewarding one it has been! It was fantastic to see so many of you at our Curriculum Mornings.

These sessions are always a highlight for us as they give us the chance to introduce you to your child’s year group team, some of our specialist teachers, and of course, the curriculum your children will be enjoying this year.

Over the past year, we’ve been working hard to refine and adapt our curriculum so that it not only meets the needs of today but also stretches and supports your children in just the right ways. We want them to be brave enough to push themselves, to step outside their comfort zones, and to even experience failure. Why? Because some of the most powerful learning happens when things don’t go right the first time. It’s in those moments that children learn to reflect, try again, and grow stronger.

I also talked about our three core promises, these are:

Happiness that fuels success - Children thrive when they feel safe and happy and that’s always our starting point. If a child doesn’t feel secure, learning simply won’t happen. That’s why we make it a priority to really know your child: what makes them tick, where their strengths lie, and where they need support. And this is where our partnership with you is so important. The more we know about what’s happening at home, the better we can support your child at school.

Create your future - None of us can predict what the world will look like when your children step into university or the workplace for the first time. What we do know is that they’ll need more than just knowledge. They’ll need skills, confidence to communicate, curiosity to ask questions, and the courage to challenge the world around them. Our curriculum is designed to give them exactly that: the tools to not only face the future but to shape it.

Proven record of achievement - While our older students consistently achieve outstanding iGCSE and A Level results, achievement in Primary looks a little different. It’s about making the most of every opportunity our holistic curriculum has to offer: from music and the performing arts to leadership roles, sports, competitions, and representing the LIONS. These experiences build resilience, character, and pride, qualities that matter just as much as academic success.

As we settle into the term, I hope you can already feel the strength of our partnership, home and school workinghand-in-hand. Together, we know our children. Together, we empower them to thrive.

Have a wonderful long weekend,
