Simon Head Message
Week 13, Term 1, 2025/2026
I hope you’ve all had a lovely week. It was wonderful to see so many of you at the fantastic Year 4 performance of What a Knight!

The children were brilliant and clearly enjoyed every moment on stage. It was also great to see such strong support at the AIMS Swimming event; your encouragement really makes a difference to our young athletes.

This week, we celebrated Positive Noticing Day across our Primary School, a day devoted to recognising and celebrating the wonderful things our students and staff do every day.

The aim of Positive Noticing Day is simple but incredibly powerful: to pause, look around, and actively notice the positives in others. Every member of staff received a personal message of appreciation from the Primary Leadership Team, while every child received a positive message from their parents, acknowledging their kindness, perseverance, and growth.

The atmosphere across the school was filled with warmth and gratitude, smiles on faces, proud children reading their messages, and colleagues taking a moment to uplift one another. It was a day that reminded us all, that encouragement costs nothing but means everything.

At BSKL, we believe that positivity and gratitude are powerful forces for growth. When we take time to recognise the good in others, to celebrate effort, empathy, or simply a moment of kindness we build confidence, connection, and a deeper sense of belonging. Gratitude helps us focus on what’s going well, even in busy or challenging times, and positivity strengthens the culture of care that sits at the heart of our school community.

Positive Noticing Day was a beautiful reflection of these values reminding us that a kind word or a moment of recognition can have a lasting impact. It’s something we’ll continue to nurture every day at BSKL

Next Friday marks one of the most popular community days in our calendar Pink Day! This special event brings our entire BSKL community together, dressed head-to-toe in pink, to raise money for several wonderful charities supporting cancer awareness and research.

There will be student performances, a fantastic selection of stalls, and an exciting raffle, with the top prize being an iPad! Don’t forget to purchase your raffle tickets from the Pink Day stand on Lower Hill before or after school.

We warmly invite all parents to join in the fun,it’s always a vibrant and uplifting day that truly captures the spirit of our community coming together for a great cause.

Have a wonderful weekend!
