The focus of this event was getting back out on the course after the new year—providing a first competitive experience for some of our newer members, while allowing our returning players to shake off the off-season rust.
This was followed by the Capstone Tournament, an independent competition hosted at Templar Park, where 14 members of our squad competed on an exceptional golf course. The tournament produced some excellent performances across the team. Makenzie (U18) secured second place in both the Nett and Gross competitions, while Dexter (U18) also claimed second place in both Nett and Gross. Jason (U13), one of our newest team members, impressed by finishing second in the Nett competition. Yanice (U11), one of the youngest players in the squad, delivered an outstanding performance—securing second place in the Gross competition and first place in the Nett.
Our final competition before the FOBISIA Golf Competition, where 15 members of the squad will travel to Manila, was the AIMS Golf competition hosted by KTJ at Staffield. Played in incredibly hot conditions on a dry, firm course, the event provided a demanding test for all involved. Despite this, all 18 BSKL golfers battled through the conditions and produced some excellent performances. For two members of the squad, it was their first ever competitive tournament, while two others recorded the best scores of their golfing careers, an outstanding reflection of the team’s development and resilience.
The competition produced a number of excellent individual and team results, with the score shown in brackets representing each player’s gross score. Sebastian secured 1st place with a superb round of 80, while Nyla (89), Lydia (79), Makenzie (87), Dexter (82), and Farhan (90) all finished in 2nd place in their respective categories. The BSKL Girls Team, consisting of Makenzie, Lydia, and Nyla, also claimed 2nd place overall, rounding off a highly successful and confidence boosting final outing ahead of FOBISIA Golf.
