Making Waves: BSKL Swimmers Shine at MIAG 2026

Making Waves: BSKL Swimmers Shine at MIAG 2026 - Swim Team
BSKL Swimmers Shine at MIAG 2026
Last week, from 5th to 8th February, the Bukit Jalil National Aquatics Center was alive with the energy of nearly 1,300 athletes from across Malaysia and Asia for the Malaysia Invitational Age Group (MIAG) 2026.
Amidst this sea of talent, 12 of our very own BSKL students stood proudly on the blocks, representing the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
What an incredible four days it was.

Our swimmers dove in and rose to the occasion with exceptional grit and sportsmanship. Competing at a national stage against the top swimmers in the region is no small feat, and yet, every single one of our athletes walked away having achieved multiple Personal Bests. Their relentless hard work in the early mornings and after school has truly paid off, and we could not be prouder.

A special round of applause goes to three of our swimmers who battled their way into the Top 10 in Malaysia for their events. Minsoo (Year 6) delivered a fantastic performance to secure 5th place in the 200m Freestyle, while William (Year 8) and KenzJi (Year 8) both powered through to claim 8th and 9th place respectively in the 50m Breaststroke. Your speed and determination were outstanding to watch.

We also extend our biggest congratulations to the following students who represented their states with honour: David (Year 5), Dena (Year 6), Andrew (Year 6), Hanna (Year 6), Kanna (Year 7), Josephine (Year 7), Olivia (Year 7), Kristen (Year 9), and Arabelle (Year 10).

From the youngest in Year 5 to our seniors in Year 10, this squad proved that age is just a number when it comes to heart. Competing against high-level Asian competition and clocking Personal Bests across the board is a testament to your dedication.

To our swimmers: You have made BSKL proud. This experience of competing with the nation’s best will undoubtedly fuel you for even greater success ahead. Keep swimming, keep striving, and keep up the amazing work. All the hard work has paid off.

Go, LIONS!
