Success at the World Spelling Championship

Success at the World Spelling Championship - world spelling championship
Success at the World Spelling Championship
We are delighted to share the achievements of the Primary students who participated in the recent World Spelling Championships.

The children competed against thousands of students from across the world in an online event that tested their spelling knowledge and their understanding of word meaning. It was a rigorous test and the questions were very challenging.

Which is why we are especially proud of all eighteen students who competed for their exceptional results. 56% of all entrants scored an A/A* grade - a phenomenal achievement. Damien in 3C performed particularly well, earning a score of 89%. Entering English-language competitions - such as this one - are a highly-effective way to develop the children's knowledge of language and deepen their understanding. It is wonderful that so many Primary students entered this competition and benefitted from the experience.

There are many more English-based competitions scheduled for the coming months, and we encourage all children to enter these events to develop their skills and gain recognition for their achievements. These competitions include Hippo English, SiL English, World Scholar's Cup, AIMs English and the English Spelling Bee.
