Nord Anglia Education has once again reinforced its position as the world’s leading international schools group after 51 of its schools were ranked among the “Most Popular International Schools of 2025” by International Schools Database (ISD).
Announced on 23 March 2026, the ranking highlights the schools most frequently researched by parents globally, underscoring the growing importance families place on reputation, curriculum quality, and future readiness when selecting international education.
ISD’s popularity rankings are widely used by expatriate and globally mobile families to compare international schools across key cities and regions. In 2025, Nord Anglia schools emerged as the most searched-for across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, reflecting consistent demand for the group’s personalised learning approach and strong academic outcomes.
Among the standout achievements was The British International School Kuala Lumpur (BSKL), which ranked the second most popular international school in Kuala Lumpur in 2025. This result positions BSKL firmly among the city’s most sought-after schools, in a landscape that includes 121 international schools across the Klang Valley.
“We are incredibly proud to be recognised as the second most popular international school in Kuala Lumpur by the International Schools Database. This achievement reflects the strength of our community, the dedication of our staff, and the trust placed in BSKL by our families. It is a clear affirmation of our commitment to delivering a high-quality, values-driven British education that allows every student to thrive,” said Dr Mike O’Connor, Principal at the British International School Kuala Lumpur.
The ranking reflects local and expatriate parents’ desire to give their children a holistic and quality education through a personalised approach. This is to ensure that students excel academically and learn happily, reflecting on BSKL’s promises that the school is the platform that will propel students to achieve great results in academia, sports, and performing arts.
“Being named the second most popular international school on the database reflects the strong interest and care that parents have for their children’s educational journey,” said Lisa Humphries, Director of Admissions and Marketing at The British International School Kuala Lumpur
"At BSKL, we want our parents to feel confident that our academic team is fully committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset they need to shape and succeed in their future.”
As international education becomes increasingly competitive, digital visibility and demonstrated parental trust are emerging as critical differentiators. The strong showing of Nord Anglia schools - particularly BSKL - signals sustained confidence in the city’s international education ecosystem.
