We are proud to celebrate another exciting academic milestone for our students as BSKL prepares to welcome and compete in the World Scholar’s Cup Regional Round on 7–8 April, hosted right here on our campus. We have 29 students competing from Years 5-9 against 700 children from schools all across Malaysia.
The World Scholar’s Cup is a globally renowned academic programme that brings together learners from around the world to engage in critical thinking, collaborative problem-solving, debating and writing across a wide range of topics. It challenges students to think deeply, work creatively and communicate confidently — skills that lie at the heart of the BSKL learning experience.
This year, BSKL students will, again, take on the dual role of hosts and competitors, showcasing not only their academic strengths but also their leadership, teamwork and sportsmanship. Preparing for the Regional Round has involved weeks of dedication, curiosity, and intellectual risk-taking, and our scholars should be immensely proud of the commitment they have shown. For example, on Saturday 27th March, 40 students competed against each other in the second round of our BSKL Scholar's Cup - debating and writing essays with their teammates against students from ISP, St Joseph's International and IGBIS.
Hosting this event is also a wonderful opportunity to welcome visiting schools to our campus, share our vibrant learning community, and celebrate international-mindedness in action. The atmosphere over the two days promises to be one of enthusiasm, thoughtful discussion, and joyful learning — values we hold dear at BSKL. We intend to show the very best of our school to all our hundreds of guests.
Last year, our students achieved fantastic results, with all 44 children who entered qualifying for the Global Round and many, many gold medals to celebrate. We wish all our participating students the very best as they step confidently into this global arena. Whatever the outcomes, their willingness to stretch themselves, collaborate with others and embrace challenge already marks them as true scholars.
Good luck to all our teams — we cannot wait to see you shine!
