Science fair win showcases BSKL’s commitment to STEAM

The British International School Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) has carved out yet another achievement in the Science sector, as it received Best School Award at the recent Malaysian International Schools Science Fair.

The Year 10 and 11 students who represented BSKL – Ramaira, Yee Rui, Estelle and Wei Xuan – were also awarded First Prize in Key Stage 4 for their impressive research, presentation and practical investigation skills.

“They confidently presented their projects to teachers and peers with enthusiasm and courage. Their ability to communicate complex scientific ideas clearly reflected both their preparation and growing confidence as young scientists,” said BSKL Secondary Chemistry Teacher MsRahnee Kim.

She highlighted the Year 11 students, who demonstrated exceptional resilience by balancing the demands of science fair preparation alongside their IGCSE examination.

“Throughout the process, they embraced feedback constructively and continually refined their research, practical investigations and presentation slides,” she said.

Beyond the competition itself, the experience allowed students to strengthen their collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will continue to benefit them in their future studies and careers.

A special thanks and appreciation also goes to Ms Kim and Head of Science Ms Lucy Twinney for their guidance, support and commitment throughout the students’ preparation and participation journey. Their encouragement and commitment have contributed meaningfully to this accomplishment.
