Before joining BVIS, Sam worked in a range of different school settings in Thailand, including both mainstream international schools and special needs settings. In these roles, he has taught across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and has experience working in Key Stage 3 from his time as a whole school learning support teacher, as well as SENCO. In his role as a special needs teacher at a specialist school in Bangkok, he worked with a range of students with significant barriers to learning and participation, including autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. He holds a Masters in Special Educational Needs & Inclusion and a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs Coordination (The National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination). Sam joined BVIS in August 2024 and brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.

Sam has visited Vietnam many times and is keen to learn the language and experience more of the country. In his free time, he enjoys playing football, as well as outdoor pursuits like running, hiking, climbing, and exploring new cultures through travel.
