2025–2026 School Year
At Country Day School, we are delighted to welcome your family to our wonderful community! We recognize that this is a significant transition, and the Admissions Office is here to support you every step of the way. Below, you’ll find helpful information to assist your family as you prepare for the start of the school year on Monday, January 12th.
Orientation Day for All New Families
Agenda for Friday, January 9th: First Day of School
- 9:00 am: Arrival and entrance through the North Gate for all families with students from EL to 12th grade
- 9:00am: General welcome and introduction by Mr. Jack Young, Country Day School's General Director, in the Theater
- 9:30am: Students dismissed for orientation.
- Parents of children in Early Childhood (EL-Prep) and Elementary School (1st-5th) please stay with your children.
- Students in Middle School (6th-8th) and High School (9th-12th) will remain at the Houses with their respective counselors and faculty. Parents can wait in the Pavilion or return later for pick-up.
Light refreshments will be served in the Pavilion.
Monday, January 12th: Classes begin for all students.
Important General Information

- Please complete the Health Information & Authorization Form. One form per child will be needed.
- To help us maintain accurate records and communicate effectively, please complete the following form if your family has recently moved to Costa Rica. This information will be used for school communications and emergency contact purposes - New Families Contact Information Update Form
- During July or beginning of August, you will be receiving an email from our Buddy Family Program, so please be sure to check your Inbox and Spam folder.
- Below you can find more information about bus transportation, uniforms and cafeteria service.

Pending Documents
- If you have not submitted the following documents, please send these by email to the Admissions Department at cds_admissions@cds.ed.cr
- Your child's 1st semester grades
- If you have not submitted your passport size picture for the parent school ID, you may send the picture to cds_admissions@cds.ed.cr. You may also take the picture at school when you visit.
- All students must submit a copy of their Costa Rica minor's identification card (Costa Rican Nationals) or DIMEX (legal residency permit for foreigners).

Bus Transportation
If your child will require school bus transportation for the upcoming school year, please contact our Transportation Coordinator at cds_transportation@cds.ed.cr to make the necessary arrangements.

Opening a Cafeteria Account
Cafeteria service at CDS is an optional service that is paid separately from other school fees. To open an account or add funds to your child's cafeteria account, please follow these steps:
- Step 1: Transfer the Funds
- Send your payment via bank transfer or SINPE Móvil to the school’s cafeteria account.

- Step 2: Notify the Business Office
- Once the transfer is complete, email the Business Office at cds_businessoffice@cds.ed.cr with the following information:
- Subject: Creation of Cafeteria Account
- Student Name(s): Include the full name(s) of the student(s)
- Payment Voucher: Attach the transfer or SINPE receipt
- Step 3: Confirmation
- The cafeteria team will confirm receipt of the payment.
For Secondary Students
