Words from our Director

Dear CDS Families,

Words from our Director | 23 September 2022 | CDS Costa Rica - words-from-our-director

It is with tremendous excitement and anticipation that I write this week’s family communication. We are only hours away from our first family picnic in over three years!  The CDS family picnic is a long-lived tradition, started by the Brown family, to provide our community with the opportunity to come together and enjoy our beautiful campus in a picnic-like environment.  This year, our team has gone above and beyond in the planning of this event.  All are welcome to campus to enjoy food, music, games, and many more family activities.  Please see the update in our newsletter for more detailed information on times and activities.

I would also like to share how proud I am of our CDS men's varsity basketball team and the tried and true CDS fans who saw them defy the odds in a huge win against cross-town rival, Lincoln.  The Panthers trailed most of the game but never gave up and with the support of a few very vocal students and parents, powered their way to a 51-52 win!  This type of event is what makes a school more than just a place to learn, it creates pride and enthusiasm amongst all who attend.  If you have not been a supporter of our athletic programs, I urge you to come to campus and cheer on our teams, bring your family and enjoy watching our young male and female athletes compete against rivals like the Lincoln School, Pan American, or Blue Valley.  With your support, our students/athletes will gain the recognition that they deserve as CDS Panther Athletes.

Finally, for all our families celebrating Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, Shana Tovah and Yom Tov to you all!

I wish you a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning at the Family Picnic!

Highest Regards,
