Mr. Brian Balding
Secondary Principal

Hello Middle and High School Families!

Country Day School - Brian Balding

We are at the home stretch in the Secondary School! High School students are finalizing projects and studying for exams. Our Middle School students are putting in their last efforts at bringing their grades to the highest level they can. The Middle School Mundialito was a success!

High School Exam Schedule

Below is the High School Exam Schedule. Students are required to be in attendance for all class times, whether their class is giving an exam or have a final project. Any student who has a very difficult exam day can request to take one of those exams during a Make-Up session (send an email in advance to Mr. Balding). Students are not required to be in attendance during a Make-Up exam session if they are not taking an exam at that time. Students who have free periods are not required to be in attendance during that time.

If a student is going to be absent for any exam days, they must complete a Pre-Arranged Absence form (get one in the office) and turn it in to the office. An alternate exam schedule will be arranged.

The Daily Schedule will change for the second semester. H block will no longer be advisory in the High School and will be replaced by a selection of elective classes to engage our students. Middle School students will switch electives, they will be choosing those in the next week. The things that were done in advisory (Social Emotional Learning, MIT Challenges, Assemblies, College Visits, etc. ) will now be done in Flex. You will also notice that the HS and MS Schedules are different, this was necessary to alleviate the issue with long lunch lines. He re are the schedules for the 2nd semester:

A few reminders from your CDS Library Team:

With the winter holidays approaching, and extended time away from school, your CDS Library would like to invite you to check-out extra books to keep you reading over break! We are happy to help you look for good books or give you suggestions on some of our favorite new arrivals.

  • December 12-16: Students from Prep to 12th can check-out to 5 books to take home for vacation
  • December 12-16: ALL Parent/Family Book Check-Out Days. We would love to invite families to come to the library and take pre-arranged book packs that we’ve curated just for you, or you may look around for your own selection.

Come on in. No appointment is necessary. The CDS Library is open from 8:00am- 3:00pm (closes at noon on Friday, Dec. 16).

Come and get some great holiday reading!
