Ancient treasures on the Mediterranean: Champittet boarders experience the highlights of Greece over Easter break

Trip to Greece - Trip to Greece

After a busy few months of studying, extracurriculars and school life, our Champittet boarding students set off on a welcome trip to Greece for Easter break. This refreshing change of scenery immersed our boarders in the richness of Greek culture, from archaeological treasures to classical sculpture and mythology.

Over 12 days, our travellers enjoyed an action-packed itinerary, including stops in Athens, and the Cyclades. Accompanied by knowledgeable guides, our boarders explored the ancient ruins of the Acropolis, the architectural marvels of the Palamidi Fortress, and the unique geological formations of the Corinth Canal. From the bustling Greek capital to the serenity of the Monastery of the Holy Trinity of Aegina, and the mainland to the islands, the trip was an unforgettable journey into Greek history and identity.

Naturally, our trip was fuelled by plenty of Greek cuisine – a fresh and delicious experience that provided another window into local culture! With visits to small mountain villages, picturesque beaches and hidden coves, our students discovered the diversity of the Mediterranean lifestyle and landscape, while kayaking in Mykonos provided a thrilling way to enjoy the area’s spectacular natural beauty.

Whether exploring the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis or wandering through the winding streets of Mykonos, our boarding trip to Greece was full of eye-opening experiences and delightful moments. After sharing this wonderful journey together, our boarders have returned with high spirits and fresh energy for the rest of the school year!
