At Collège Champittet, we believe that our students’ families play a crucial role in their learning success. We’re here to support parents in every step of their child’s journey, from choosing academic subjects to achieving higher education and career goals.
Collège Champittet offers three different diploma pathways for our secondary students, giving our learners an especially wide range of options. To help families make the best decision, we run information sessions open to the parents of our students in Grades 6 to 11. During these sessions, we explain the requirements and answer questions about our three globally recognised diploma programmes: International Baccalaureate (IB), French Baccalaureate and Swiss Maturité.
Once students have chosen a diploma pathway, there are also important decisions to make regarding course options and subject choices. That’s why we continue to hold dedicated information sessions for parents about the specific options available in each diploma programme. At this stage, many students are selecting subjects that will prepare them for their university goals.
Open dialogue makes our community stronger, which is why we invite our parents to join us for our monthly Director’s Café. This gives our families a chance to meet with members of Collège Champittet’s leadership, including our Admissions Team, Executive Committee and Head of School. At our Director’s Café, we discuss recent events at our school and listen to questions and comments from our community.
In the same spirit, we also host a Director’s Fondue every year – a warm gathering between Champittet families and school leaders. We were delighted to see many of our community members at our latest Fondue at the end of February – thank you for joining us!
Building relationships between parents and teachers is equally important at Collège Champittet. Twice a year, we invite our families to meet with three teachers of their choice as part of our “Speed Meeting” event. This enables our parents to receive direct, constructive feedback regarding their child’s progress.
Of course, we are committed to maintaining ongoing, transparent communication with our parents throughout the year. If “it takes a village to raise a child”, then we believe that it also takes a strong partnership with our families to support the success of our students. That bond is part of what makes our Champittet community truly exceptional!
