Champittet Summer Leadership Camp : adventure, friendship, growth

From June to July, our Champittet Summer Leadership Camp brought together young people from across the world for an enriching journey of adventure, exploration and self-discovery. Through hands-on workshops, outdoor challenges and uniquely Swiss experiences, campers honed their teamwork and leadership skills while creating memories and friendships to treasure for years to come.
Learning to lead through hands-on experience
Communication, creativity, teamwork. The confidence to speak in public, tackle problems and lead with empathy. Through the lens of business and hospitality, our campers developed these skills and more in specialist workshops led by IMD and hands-on experiences at École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL).
Our campers then put these skills to the test in entrepreneurial activities such as the Top Chef Challenge, working in teams to create and launch their own restaurant concepts – from branding, budget and business plans to menus and customer experience.
Visiting the International Olympic Committee (IOC) provided another source of inspiration, as our campers met Olympic athletes and learned valuable lessons in resilience, determination and perseverance.

Exploring the best of Swiss nature and culture
The Summer Leadership Camp also immersed participants in Switzerland’s beautiful natural scenery and cosmopolitan cities. Sailing on Lake Geneva, rafting in the Swiss Alps, canyoning, tree-top obstacle courses, Glacier 3000 and Lac de Taney were among the many outdoor adventures our campers enjoyed, while they also explored urban history and culture in destinations like Lausanne and the French town of Annecy.
Whether up in the mountains, by the lake, or in the city, our young leaders strengthened their independence and broadened their worldview as they pushed beyond their comfort zones and shared these new experiences together.

Building friendships across borders
Mixing Champittet students with young people from around the world, our two-week Leadership Camp gave participants a unique opportunity to build friendships across borders. Through team challenges, campfires, disco nights and talent shows, our campers came away with lasting friendships and lifelong memories, as well as newfound confidence in their leadership abilities.
We were delighted to receive wonderful feedback from our campers, such as this comment: “Thank you for one of the best experiences I ever had. You taught me so much, and the friendships I made are something I will never forget.”
Thank you to our campers, counsellors and partners for making the Champittet Summer Leadership Camp such a success. We’re already looking forward to next year’s edition!
