This year marks a full decade of partnership between Juilliard and Nord Anglia. At Compass, we're hosting the 2026 Nord Anglia Performing Arts Festival, and we couldn't be more proud. But beyond the celebration and accolades lies something far more meaningful: the transformation of young people discovering their voice and their potential.
One of our ensembles is performing Disney's High School Musical Jr. this season. It's a production that teaches lessons that extend far beyond the stage.
When a student takes on a role, they're not simply memorising lines. They're developing intentionality. Strategy enters through choices: which words need emphasis, where does timing create impact, when does a pause shift the entire meaning of a scene? These decisions translate into real-world skills: the ability to communicate clearly, to think critically about how words land, and to understand that precision matters.
Patience emerges through rehearsal. Confidence builds through repetition. And through it all, students learn that mistakes aren't failures, they're information. A flubbed line in rehearsal becomes a chance to adjust, to try differently, to find what works.
Not every student finds it easy to stand before an audience. Mental endurance is real. Memorising lines demands focus. Delivering them night after night requires emotional stamina. The willingness to be vulnerable and to risk imperfection in front of others takes courage that shouldn't be underestimated.
But here's what matters most: students don't do this alone. They're supported by directors, peers, and an entire community that understands the value of trying, failing, and trying again. In that environment, resilience isn't forced; it's cultivated.
Success on stage looks different for every student. It's not always the perfect performance. Sometimes it's the shy student who found their voice. It's the struggling reader who nailed their monologue. It's the quiet presence who discovered they belong. Success is accepting feedback with humility, offering praise generously, and recognizing that growth happens in community.
These qualities; resilience, humility, the willingness to try, don't develop by accident. They flourish in partnerships that prioritize the whole person, not just the polished product.
The Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Collaboration represents 10 years of commitment to bringing world-class education and mentorship into our communities. It's not about names or prestige; it's about opening doors. It's about creating spaces where young people can experiment, fail safely, discover passions, and build confidence in who they are. When students perform on our stage, they're part of a legacy. They're accessing expertise that spans generations. And they're learning that their voice, literal and figurative, matters.
The next decade of this partnership will continue to challenge, inspire, and transform. And your child could be part of it. Whether they're drawn to performing arts or discovering new passions through creative collaboration, Compass offers something rare: an institution that believes in potential, invests in growth, and creates space for voices to be heard.
If your child is ready to discover what they're capable of—to build confidence, resilience, and genuine connection with peers who are on the same journey—we'd like to meet them. The stage is waiting, and so are we.
