Our careers programme guides students and families throughout Secondary school, providing an extensive programme of events and opportunities to explore and plan for what comes next. Students take part in university visits, guest lectures, careers fairs and our popular Lunch and Learn sessions, while parents are kept informed through coffee mornings, dedicated pathway sessions and a weekly Secondary newsletter.

HARUKA NAKASHIMA, CLASS OF 2025

Economics, The University of Tokyo

Haruka chose to return to Japan for university, drawn by family ties and a desire to focus her energy on her studies. Dover Court's support extended well beyond the classroom, with teachers helping her prepare references and navigate the complex application process. The writing and time-management skills she built through the IB gave her a strong foundation, even as she adjusted to a different academic style in Japan.

HASUMI IIDA, CLASS OF 2025

Social & Criminal Psychology, Sophia University

Hasumi spent almost ten years at Dover Court before returning to Japan for university. Her English skills, built up at DCIS, proved essential for Japan's returnee entrance exams. She balanced IB finals with intensive Japanese language study to prepare for the move, while two years studying psychology in the IB gave her a head start on her degree.

Mathematics and Economics, London School of Economics

After completing National Service, Shantanu went on to study at his dream university. With Dover Court's guidance team behind him throughout Sixth Form and beyond graduation, he navigated the application process with confidence, all the way to his first day at the LSE.

MIHIKA, CLASS OF 2022

Kinesiology + Master of Management (Dual Degree), University of British Columbia

Mihika captained the basketball team, served as House captain, and led the service committee at Dover Court. She carried that leadership forward at UBC Vancouver, where she was VP External of the Women in Sport committee and coordinator of the Kinesiology Undergraduate Society.

PRANAV, CLASS OF 2020

TV Production, University of Portsmouth

Pranav joined Dover Court in Year 5 and discovered a passion for storytelling through the school's media and radio team. After completing his diploma, National Service and a degree in TV Production, he graduated in 2025 with ambitions to build his own production company.

SAM, CLASS OF 2020

Undergraduate, University of Edinburgh

While at Dover Court, Sam co-founded The Period Society, a youth-led social enterprise promoting menstrual equity that won the Harvard MUN Act2Impact Award and a Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots grant. She took that same drive to Edinburgh, where she's studying alongside an internship at a marketing and consulting firm.

Computer Science, Lancaster University

Manaswi had never studied Computer Science before choosing it as her degree, which was a leap of faith that paid off. At Lancaster University, she discovered a growing passion for the subject and an excitement for where it can take her.

Actor and Front of House Ambassador, KC Arts Centre

Prithviraj attended Dover Court for 13 years, where school productions ignited a passion for acting that has stayed with him ever since. He's now part of the Singapore Theatre Company's Inclusive Young Company and working as a Front of House Ambassador at one of Singapore's leading arts venues.

FAIRS AND EVENTS

MEET THE WORLD'S LEADING UNIVERSITIES

Our annual Lions City Fair brings the world's best universities to Dover Court, giving students and families the chance to meet admissions representatives, ask questions and explore their options in person. Last year, more than 150 universities were represented.

Alongside the fair, our events calendar includes the Aspiring Medics Conference, specialist presentations from Imperial College London, Cambridge University and Harvard, and a growing programme of campus visits, portfolio sessions and student-led Special Interest Groups in law, sport, healthcare and medicine.

A PATH FOR EVERY STUDENT

Dover Court students go on to do remarkable things, and not always in the ways you might expect. From world-leading universities to apprenticeships, gap years and National Service, we invest equally in every path and every student.

University

For students heading to university, we guide every stage of the process. That means building a shortlist, writing personal statements, preparing for interviews and navigating offers — all shaped around the individual student. We help students weigh up their offers properly, looking beyond league tables and reputation to find the right fit for who they are and what they want.

National Service

For male Singaporean citizens and permanent residents, National Service is a mandatory and meaningful part of the journey to adulthood. Our guidance team helps students navigate the unique challenges of applying to university around NS. We run dedicated information sessions for NS students and stay in contact throughout, so no one faces the process alone.

Gap Year

A gap year, summer programme or period of travel can be one of the most formative experiences of a young person's life. We help students plan purposefully, make the most of their time and return ready for whatever comes next.

Direct Employment & Internships

For students ready to join the workforce, our guidance team supports students in making a confident, well-informed start in their chosen field, from identifying the right opportunities to preparing for interviews and navigating the application process.

THE TEAM BEHIND YOUR CHILD'S FUTURE

Driving our careers programme is a dedicated team of Sixth Form advisors and pastoral counsellors, holding professional accreditations including IECA, CEP and NACAC, who get to know every student individually, building a profile of their interests, strengths and values to match them with the right pathway and the right destination.

Our guidance team covers every aspect: university research, personal statements, interview preparation and standardised tests including SAT, ACT and IELTS. Families also receive guidance on scholarships, costs and budgeting for life away from home. For students with diverse needs, including neurodivergent students and first-generation applicants, we make sure every pathway is accessible.
