Dear DCIS Parents and Guardians,

Following some great campaigns our School Council representatives are now in place and will shortly have some ‘training’ so they can understand their responsibilities and start to develop some of the key skills they will need to be effective in their roles. Our representatives will perform a vital role in the school as the voice of our student body and will help us continue the transformation of DCIS. The skills they develop will help them achieve success during the rest of their school years and beyond.

We were all delighted to host Kathryn Andersen from The Juilliard School last week. Kathryn spent a lot of time in classrooms observing the implementation of The Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme, and her visit culminated in a fantastic master class attended by a number of our parents and students. It was great to see Felix perform the opening song and Chris and Sotaro ably demonstrating the transformational effect a master class can have. We are now looking forward to using Kathryn’s recommendations to help with the ongoing implementation of the programme at DCIS.

Finally, there are a number of key dates approaching for parents, including the Year 6 Transition Evening and Year 9 Options Evening. We will keep you posted on these.

John Smith
