Loads of books on sale this week for all age ranges

This week marks the launch of the DCIS World Book Week. Our Teachers and Book Fair Committee have been busy organising an array of book-related activities and class teachers have already shared photos from the Extreme Reading Challenge on their class blogs.

This year’s World Book Week will be as fun-packed as ever, creating exciting learning opportunities linked to literacy and books. As 2016 marks the 400th anniversary of the death of the well-known playwright, William Shakespeare, so too will this year’s Book Week. DCIS students will take part in a range of different activities linked to one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays, ‘The Tempest’.

Alongside this, members of the SLT will be popping into classes to share a book and students across the school will be taking part in paired and group reading sessions.

Book Sale
Our Library have also organised for a Book Sale by C & E Associates and each class has an allocated time to come view and purchase books:

  • Lower primary students should bring their money in a well-marked envelope so any change due can be sent back safely
  • The average price of the books sold will be between $7.00 - $24.00
  • Cheques are to be made out directly to C & E Associates
