4MD and 4CJ Class Assembly: 'The Great Kapok Tree’

4MD and 4CJ class assembly performance was based on the book ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ by Lynn Cherry.

Lynn Cherry wrote this book to teach children about rainforest conservation because in twenty years, they will be making the decisions. In Year 4, the children have been learning about rainforests and what we can do to preserve them, and they wanted to share their knowledge with others. The children in 4MD and 4CJ choreographed the dances themselves and performed their roles perfectly. They worked hard to create rainforest artwork and the parents in 4MD did a fantastic job, working together, to create the Great Kapok Tree. It is now our hope that, in this ever changing world, you remember that what you do today can effect what happens tomorrow.
