We were all excited to take part in this year's first House Day.
The DCIS House System encourages students to work together as a team with a focus on friendly competition. We have regular house days throughout the year where the children participate in a mix of social, academic, creative and sporting events. The purpose of our first House Day was to give all students a chance to learn who else is in their house and it was lovely to see children in different year groups high fiving their fellow house members. The children enjoyed a number of activities and team building exercises and are already talking about the next House Day, 18th September, when they will take part in a house literacy event.
Our Year 7 students went on two amazing trips to Sibu Island, Malaysia, for their year group residential. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and immersed in a vibrant new culture, students had the chance to connect with their friends and make memories that will last forever.
