DCIS Year 8 Student Published in Guide Book Anushka in Year 8 is one of the contributors to the brand new 'Kidz Explore Singapore' guide book.

Anushka in Year 8 is one of the contributors to the brand new 'Kidz Explore Singapore' guide book.

Kidz Explore Singapore is a travel guide fully written by children, who have chosen all the places to be featured in the book. They share their experiences and highlight what they like best in each place including useful tips to make visits even more fulfilling.

Our student Anushka in Year 8 was part of the team of children who reviewed places and has two entries in the book. To celebrate her achievment she was invited to Mr Bull to share the book. We also got the opportunity to meet with her to find out more!

Q: Hi Anushka, how exciting to be part of a published book! Can you tell us a bit about the process?

A: Thank you, I'm very excited. This book has actually taken a few years to complete, I did my reviews and submitted my texts almost three years ago. It was really interesting to follow the whole process, it's not that easy to write a book!

Q: What places did you visit for the book?

A: I went to two places, Center Pottery, where I did a pottery workshop, and Keppel Centre for Art Education at National Gallery. Both places were very interesting and I would definitely recommend people to visit.

Q: What age group would you say the book is written for?

A: I think the book is perfect for families with Primary aged children.

Q: It is a few years since you wrote your pieces for the book, you were in Primary then and are now a Secondary student. If you would recommend somewhere for anyone your age to visit, where would that be?

A: There are so many interesting places in Singapore, but I would probably say Gardens by the Bay. The architecture is really interesting and the domes are really cool to visit!

The book Kidz Explore Singapore can be bought both online and from most book stores.
