Say Watt? Year 2 were all wired up and ready to learn when they were visited by the Science Centre on Monday and Tuesday!
The Year 2 children completed a series of fascinating workshops investigating electricity and how it works. They created a closed circuit using batteries, wires and lightbulbs and tested different materials to see which were conductors and which were insulators. They also investigated the difference between series circuits and parallel circuits, which is more effective and why. Furthermore, the children looked at fuses and watched what happens to them when we have too much electricity! If you meet a Year 2 student, ask them what they learnt and all about the shockingly fun day they had!
