This week marked an exciting milestone at Dover Court International School. We hosted our first-ever F1 in Schools race, and what an incredible event it was!
For over a year, our student teams have been working behind the scenes as part of our STEAM CCA programme, putting in hours of effort to design, secure sponsorship, and build their very own miniature F1 cars. What started as a fun classroom project turned into an action-packed race day full of energy, ideas, and teamwork.
The Indoor Sports Hall was literally buzzing with energy as the students launched their cars down the track to cheers from classmates, teachers and spectators. Each team also delivered presentations on their design process, impressing everyone with their confidence, technical understanding, and professionalism. They truly were outstanding ambassadors for STEAM at DCIS.
Reflecting on the day, Mr Goold, our Assistant Head of Secondary, shared:
“If today’s performance is anything to go by, the future of F1 is in exceptionally safe hands. These young engineers and drivers have not only showcased technical brilliance but also teamwork, creativity, and resilience in abundance. The next generation of motorsport innovators is already racing ahead.”
A huge congratulations to all our teams for their dedication and spirit, and a massive thank you to Mr Stevens for leading this project and supporting our students every step of the way. We’re already looking forward to building on this success and making next year’s race even bigger and better!
