We are incredibly proud to share the success of our talented students in this year’s Nord Anglia Education (NAE) Virtual Young Musician of the Year Competition – a truly global celebration of creativity, dedication, and musical excellence.
With over 3,758 students from 57 schools worldwide taking part, this competition brings together young performers, composers, and musicians from across the Nord Anglia community. To be recognised at this level is a fantastic achievement, and our students truly stood out.
Our Global Winners A huge congratulations to our two category winners:

Both students were also featured in the Best in Show global showcase, placing their performances among the very best in the world.
Shanaya shared what the experience meant to her:
“I wanted to showcase my drumming skills, and I also wanted to represent my school in the global competition. I enjoyed practising my double kicks and trying out different fills for the song. When I found out that I was the winner… I felt overjoyed, and I felt happy that my efforts were rewarded.”
Yu-Tung reflected on the challenge and opportunity: “I was inspired to take part in the competition because I wanted to challenge myself and share my love for music with others. I especially enjoyed preparing the pieces and finding ways to make the performance more expressive and enjoyable. I felt really excited and surprised to be recognised in such a global competition… it made the achievement even more meaningful.”
Outstanding Runners-Up
We also celebrate our talented runners-up, whose achievements reflect incredible creativity and perseverance:

Arthur spoke about the personal connection behind his work: “I love music, and I feel that through music I can express my feelings better… when I compose or play the piano, I can focus deeply and connect with my emotions. I feel so happy and proud to represent my school and win the runner-up. I feel my hard work has paid off.”
Zeeshan highlighted the confidence and growth gained through the experience: “I wanted to take part because it seemed like a great opportunity to improve my confidence and compete with musicians from around the world. I enjoyed trying to make my piece more expressive each time… being recognised as a runner-up feels amazing, and it has motivated me to keep improving.”
A Global Platform for Creativity
The Virtual Young Musician of the Year competition is more than just a competition, it is an opportunity for students to:
Each stage of the process, from preparation to performance, supports students in developing not only their musical ability but also their confidence and self-expression, giving them the courage to share their voice with the world.
Inspiring Growth Beyond the Classroom
Experiences like this reflect our commitment to nurturing every student’s individual talents. Whether performing, composing, or experimenting with new styles, students are encouraged to explore their creativity and challenge themselves.
It’s a powerful example of how learning extends beyond the classroom, where passions are supported, confidence grows, and meaningful opportunities help students realise what they are capable of achieving.
We are incredibly proud of all our students who took part in this year’s competition. Their enthusiasm, commitment, and creativity have been inspiring to see. We look forward to seeing even more students step forward in the future – continuing to create, perform, and share their music with the world.
Congratulations to all – your achievements truly deserve to be celebrated.
